Pcola Posts Shutout, Hawks Win!

Pcola Posts Shutout, Hawks Win!

A strong defensive effort by the Hawks was key in a very tight and eventful first half. A series of great saves by freshman Hannah Pcola kept the game close right through the first half horn.

In the second half, the Hawks gritty defensive effort was paired with relentless offense, which led to a number of opportunities for the Hawks early and often in the second half. Mohawk finally broke through in the 77th minute when freshman Amber Piersma found the net on a stellar ball from Alyssa Shepherd. The momentum continued into the final minute of the game when Freshman Alexis Bates finished a ball from fellow freshman Cam Mosher to seal the victory for the Hawks.

The 2-0 win for Mohawk Valley brings the Hawks to 2-0 in the region as they prepare for a road trip to Tompkins Cortland Community College on Thursday, November 15th.
