Hawks Take Down Raiders, 6-0

Hawks Take Down Raiders, 6-0

The Hawks came out sharp early, as they scored their first goal of the game just 8 minutes in as Amber Piersma finished a pass from Kylee Rickard to get things started. The pace was relentless as the first half went on, and the Hawks found the back of the net again on a great ball from Amber Piersma that found Jazmyn Gillette who finished the shot to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead going into half time. Mohawk Valley's defense remained stellar in the first half as they have all season long, and held the Raiders to no shots on goal in the entire first half.

As the second half started, it was more of the same for the Mohawk Valley Hawks. Jazmyn Gillette scored 2 goals in the second half to give herself a hat-trick on the afternoon. Alex Bates finished off the scoring for the Hawks as she put one into the back of the net to give the hawks a 5-0 lead, and Jordyn Squire finished off the scoring as she put the game away with a goal to make it 6-0. Assists by Kylee Rickard, Alyssa Shepherd, Madisen Gordinshek, and Jazymyn Gillette all had assists in the game, which has continued to be the trademark of a very unselfish team. In addition, the Hawks were able to put together another full game shut out. Hannah Pcola continued her stellar play with 2 saves in the second half.

The 7-0 Hawks will return to action on Wednesday afternoon, as they take on Genesee Community College at 4:00 PM at home.
