The Mohawk Valley Community College Women's soccer team came in to the Region 3 championship game with a perfect 13-0 record and were determined to keep that in tact, as they competed for a Region 3 championship on the campus of Genesee Community College against Finger Lakes CC. 

Coach Vitale had his team ready from the opening whistle as the Hawks came out like a ball of fire. Jazmyn Gillette, as she has done all year long, provided the first spark for MV as she had 2 goals in the first in the first 6 minutes of the contest, as well an assist which got the Hawks off to a 3-0 start. Jordyn Squire and Region 3 player of the year Amber Piersma added assists during that same run, as the Hawks displayed their trademark balanced attack all afternoon long.

11 minutes later, Kylee Richard put one into the back of the net on another assist by Jordyn Squire, that put the Hawks up 4-0. As the first half went on, it was evident that the Hawks were not going to let up as they wanted to ensure that they had all of the seperation they needed. 

To close out the first half, Alexis Bates and Lauren packard added goals, on assists from Alaina Taylor and Olivia Bouchniak, to give MV at 6-0 lead as the first half sounded. The Hawks defense held the Lakers to just 2 shots on goal in the first half and Hannah Pcola continued on her stellar play. 

As the second half went on, it was obvious that the Hawks were going to continue to be aggressive and 3 goals by Amber Piersma, another goal by Gillette and a goal by Kylee Richard, put the game out of reach for Finger Lakes who were able to put one in the back of the net to make the final score 11-1 and give the Mohawk Valley Community College Hawk's Women's Soccer team a Region 3 Championship.
