Nick Evanoff has been with MVCC since August 2018, and is entering his third season as Head Coach of Men's Lacrosse and his first coaching Women's Tennis.

Originally from Syracuse, Evanoff is a 2003 graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, where as a midfielder scored 40 goals and had 25 assists totaling 65 points in his two seasons with the Northstars. He played lacrosse at Utica College and transitioned to defense playing LSM, and is still the all-time leading scoring defenseman in the history of the program.

After graduating from Utica College in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Evanoff was hired by UC to be the Women’s Lacrosse assistant in the spring of 2008, and helped guide the Pioneers to the ECAC tournament that season. In the summer of 2008, Evanoff transitioned back to Men’s Lacrosse assistant and was with the team through the 2014 season. In 2013, he was on the staff that saw UC advance to the Empire 8 Conference Semi-Finals for the only time in the history of the program. Evanoff completed his master’s degree in childhood education in 2014, and went to work in the Whitesboro School District, where he became the Varsity Boy’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach. He was with Whitesboro for two seasons — 2015 and 2016 — which saw back-to-back sectional playoff appearances and hosted its first-ever boys lacrosse sectional game.

During this time, Evanoff also became a New York State certified Men’s Lacrosse Official, and has continued officiating while coaching at MVCC. He got his first win as a head coach on March 7, 2020, as he led the Hawks Men’s Lacrosse team to its first victory since the 2015 season with a 13-9 win at Brookdale Community College, right before the NJCAA spring sports season was ended early due to the pandemic. He resides in New Hartford.
