Durell Cull enters the 2022-23 with more than 8 years of coaching experience with the Men's and Women's Track and Field teams. Cull is an alumni of MVCC and holds a decorated resume of collegiate & high school track records. His first 8 seasons of coaching were no different; churning out successful athletes with both the Men and Lady Hawks in a variety of events. Many of whom have gone on to 4 year schools to continue their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence. The Men have named 6 NJCAA National Champions, over 25 All-Region Athletes, 15 Regional Champions and 16 All-American Athletes. The Lady Hawks won the 2015 NJCAA National Championship, a 2019 Region III Championship and have named 20 All-Region Athletes, 7 Regional Champions and 2 All-Americans. 

Cull graduated from MVCC with an associate degree in Recreation & Leisure Services and General Studies. While a student-athlete with the Hawks, Cull was a JUCO All-American in the 100-Meter Dash, Region III Record holder and 60-Meter Dash Champion. He also holds school records in 100-Meter Dash, 60-Meter Dash, Indoor 200-Meter Dash, and 4x100 Meter Relay. 

After MVCC, Cull continued his track career at NCAA Division I Liberty University, where he helped the Flames win a IC4A Conference Championship. Cull then continued his studies while Transferring to SUNY Oneonta where he completed his collegiate track career. At Oneonta Cull was tabbed as an All American in the 55-Meter Dash while taking 1st in said event at the SUNY Athletic Conference Championship. Off the Track Cull completed his bachelor's degree in Human Ecology while graduating from SUNY Oneonta.


Cull showed early promise while running for Rome Free Academy in high school. The team went undefeated in thier outdoor campaign. During that seaspn Cull was A member of the mens 4x100 team that became state champs including holding the section 3 record for fastest time in the 4x100 meter relay; Runner up in the 100 meter dash final and current section 3 record holder for the fastest indoor 200 meter dash time on a flat track.
